You want to thank your groomsmen for their time, effort and support on your wedding day. Choosing an appropriate gift is important to you, but you don’t want to buy something overly sentimental, pretentious or stuffy. This is understandable-in fact, the gift you choose should reflect the personalities of your groomsmen.
Many people go with traditional masculine items like cuff links or driving gloves. Don’t be afraid to think up unique groomsmen gifts though, because the sky is the limit. You want to get your groomsmen something that they’ll actually like or use. If your groomsmen have a great sense of humor, incorporate that into the gift. Go with something lighthearted like funny matching t-shirts or silver flasks engraved with each groomsman’s nickname. Another great idea is to burn video footage of the wedding ceremony and reception onto a DVD and give copies to each groomsman.
Whatever you choose, pair the gift with your own heartfelt words of thanks. You can do this verbally or with the inclusion of a handwritten note or card, depending on what you’re most comfortable with. You don’t need to make a big mushy display, but communicating your appreciation is what it’s really all about.
