Award Plaques are recognition items which are given to people to show their achievements to others. They give honor to the recipient and they tell of the reasons why the award was given. Plaques can be bought in specialty stores and engraved with a personalized message. There are different types of plaques given for different achievements.

First of all, there are award plaques given to people because of business. People who have served in a certain company for a number of years or who have done spectacular work are usually given recognition in order to encourage them to continue to work harder and do well in their job. Other awards include the perfect attendance award which shows that diligence in coming to work is appreciated. Awards are also given to employees when they retire, to recognize all of the years that they had faithfully worked for the company until their retirement.

The next type of Award Plaque is given to people for winning a competition or a sporting event. These are made to show others the talent and skills of the people who participated in different competitions and events. Examples include the places of the winners, the most valuable player, and others.

Academic achievements are also recognized through award plaques. These are given to students who display diligence and talent in their studies. Examples include honor roll and graduation awards. Usually, these are only given when a student has done a lot of good work over several years for a school.

Lastly, there are general awards which are given for different events. Appreciation and recognition awards for different activities like volunteerism and community service fall under this classification. These can also be given to speakers in an event, to show the appreciation of the people who benefited from their talk.
