Great Ideas of Places to Take Children at Christmas Time

Most family traditions during Christmas are very similar to one another in the fact that they usually involve decorating the tree and home, having a nice family dinner, and gathering around the tree to open up gifts. These are all great ways to simply enjoy one another during the holiday season while making memories. However, if you feel like you would like to add a little something extra to the upcoming holiday season for the kids, why not look into gathering up the family and going to a Christmas related destination that the children are sure to flip for. There are many different places that you can go to experience Christmas in a whole new light.

For instance, why not take the kids to North Pole, New York, the home of Santa’s Workshop? Besides getting the opportunity to meet jolly old Saint Nick himself, the kids can get a look at all of the famed reindeer on Santa’s crew as well as enjoying some fun holiday rides.

Hershey, Pennsylvania is also a very popular attraction during the holiday season. Otherwise known as “Chocolate Town”, Hershey also offers the opportunity to get up close and personal with Santa and his reindeer while enjoying various Christmas themed rides and activities. That’s not to mention all of the delicious chocolate treats that are there for the choosing.

The town of Bethlehem, Connecticut also offers a great experience for families and children during the holiday season. The town’s two day Christmas festival in early December is a terrific way to soak up the holiday spirit while watching Santa arrive to light a huge Christmas tree.

Last but certainly not least are The Polar Express train rides that are offered at many different tourist railroads in the United States. These rides are based upon the book and movie of the same name and do their best to recreate the experience for the children. Sure to put a smile on any young child’s face.
